Frequently Asked Questions
Client Experience
-
During your first appointment, you’re invited to share in-depth information about your health and life experience, including any chronic conditions, physical and mental health issues, current goals and lifestyle overview.
If the appointment is in person, it includes Chinese tongue and pulse readings. Every client receives a Personal Health and Lifestyle plan with recommendations for herbal remedies, supplements, lifestyle changes, dietary modifications and other healing practices. The herbs recommended will be custom formulated to your body and unique health needs.
-
You may experience changes in your health within just 3-5 days of the start of your herbal formulas. Based on your responses, you may receive suggestions for dosage changes or adjustments to your custom formula, as your body begins recovering its natural balance.
In a follow-up appointment, we’ll discuss any changes you’ve noticed that may on the surface seem unrelated. These changes are indicators to a trained practitioner to adjust your customized plan, so you continue to move toward your healthy best.
-
Herbalism gently addresses the root causes of health concerns, not just symptoms. However, gentle doesn’t mean slow. Many clients notice positive changes within 1–2 weeks. Deeper, more lasting healing takes time as we work together with personalized food, lifestyle, and herbal changes.
Monthly visits may be recommended for the first 2–6 months, with less frequent visits as you progress. Payment plans and discounts are available to help make herbal care accessible to all.
-
If it’s been over 3 years, I recommend a New Patient 90-minute appointment.
Otherwise, book a 60-minute appointment so we have plenty of time to catch up.
-
You don’t need to be tech-savvy or comfortable on video. Appointments are available via Zoom, FaceTime, or phone, whatever feels most comfortable for you.
The beauty of telehealth is that we can connect from anywhere! Truly, I’ve had patients relaxed in bed, on their lunch break, or snuggled on the couch with their dog. There’s no judgment, EVER.
For Zoom visits, a link will be sent once I receive your booking request.
-
Absolutely! We’ll break things down into manageable pieces and create practical, step-by-step solutions together at a pace that feels right for you.
I rely on your symptoms, your unique voice, what I see, and the details you share to make a full assessment.
You can also send me a photo of your tongue! In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the tongue can provide additional clues about what’s happening in the body and is one of the tools I use to better understand your overall health.
-
If you need a formula you’ve had in the past, email me at HerbalistMo@gmail.com and I’ll help you find the best option.
If you’re a new client and haven’t received an email from Fullscript or a call from Prairie Star Botanicals, please let me know so I can expedite this process for you.

Basics About Herbalism
-
An herbalist is a person who is in constant discovery of the healing properties of plants, and applies that knowledge to help people and their communities live healthier, happier lives.
-
Traditional Chinese Herbalism grew out of a 5,000-year-old tradition that includes the use of herbs, acupuncture, energy work, gentle movement, moxibustion, and massage to keep the whole body healthy and vital.
Rather than simply managing symptoms, Chinese herbalism seeks to restore balance at the root of an issue. Using pulse and tongue readings, refined centuries before modern diagnostic tools, TCM offers a unique way of understanding the body.
Herbalist Mo incorporates these time-honored methods, along with questions about physical and emotional well-being, into every client assessment.
-
Nature has always offered powerful medicine through plants. Herbalism works with whole plants in their natural form to support the body gently and effectively.
With a thorough assessment, herbs can be carefully selected and dosed to suit each person, with sensitive clients starting slowly and adjusting as needed.
I encourage questions about herbal safety so we can separate fact from fiction and create a comfortable, personalized approach to healing.
